Hometown Headlines 🏝️
Big Wins for Brunswick: Jobs, Industry, and Buc-ee’s Boom
The Golden Isles Development Authority (GIDA) just released its 2025 Year in Review, and the numbers tell a story of serious momentum. This past year saw industrial parks fully occupied, $100+ million in new investments, and the Authority becoming financially self-sustaining for the first time.
Highlights include the blockbuster opening of Buc-ee’s at Exit 42 (bringing 200 jobs and brisk brisket sales), major groundbreakings by Hillpointe and JB2 totaling more than 560,000 square feet of industrial space, and Wallenius Wilhelmsen launching a 300-acre vehicle logistics hub at the Port of Brunswick.
The report also notes Glynn County’s GDP jumping 9.5% in 2023 to $5.78 billion, median household income climbing 20% since 2020, and manufacturing jobs paying nearly 45% above the county average. On the community side, GIDA invested $120,000 directly into local businesses through its Share the Future initiative and partnered with schools and nonprofits to expand aviation and skilled trades training.
Looking ahead, the Authority is setting its sights on aerospace growth, new industrial site acquisitions, and continuing to build a workforce pipeline under its Keep Glynn Running campaign.
The bottom line? Brunswick and the Golden Isles are buzzing, and 2025 looks like just the beginning.
