We break down what actually happened, why the speculation spiraled, and why our town keeps getting dragged into national narratives. Calm analysis > internet hysteria.

🌮 Taqueria Tikal Celebrates Grand Opening in Downtown Brunswick

Downtown Brunswick just got a little more flavorful.

Taqueria Tikal officially opened its doors at 2412 Norwich St. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 30, hosted by the Downtown Development Authority of the City of Brunswick. Community members, local supporters, and DDA representatives gathered to welcome the new restaurant to the neighborhood and celebrate its arrival on Norwich Street.

Bringing authentic flavors and fresh energy to the downtown dining scene, Taqueria Tikal is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If you’ve been looking for a new lunch spot (or an excuse to spice up your dinner rotation), this might be it.

🏀 The Pinball Palace Competing to Win $6,500 Pop-A-Shot Game

Brunswick’s own The Pinball Palace is in the running to win a brand-new Pop-A-Shot Elite basketball arcade game — a $6,500 prize that would add even more competitive energy to the local arcade scene.

Owner Kelley Daniel is asking the community to rally behind the effort in an online voting contest where the top vote-getter takes home the machine for free. Voting is open daily from February 26 through March 8, and votes reset every day — meaning supporters can cast a ballot once every 24 hours.

If the Palace wins, the full-size Pop-A-Shot Elite would join its lineup of pinball machines and classic arcade games, giving visitors another way to challenge friends, settle scores, and chase high scores.

One of Brunswick’s favorite neighborhood bar & grills is celebrating a milestone.

Tipsy McSway’s marked its 14th anniversary today, thanking the community for years of support, drinks shared, meals enjoyed, and memories made. In a heartfelt message, the team expressed gratitude to “every single person who ever stopped in” and showed the longtime local spot love over the years.

For more than a decade, Tipsy’s has been a go-to gathering place for locals looking for good food, cold drinks, and familiar faces.

Fourteen years in the books — and still going strong. 🍻
