One of the things I love about living here is that no two weeks ever look the same. In the next few days you can sip small-batch Champagne in downtown Brunswick, meet live reptiles in Darien, catch Beetlejuice JR. on stage, browse a family luau in Camden County, or simply settle in with great local music almost every night of the week. And before you head out, we've also got some good news to celebrate—Brunswick's Public Works Department just earned a pair of statewide honors

🏆 Brunswick Public Works Earns Statewide Recognition
The City of Brunswick's Public Works Department is celebrating a pair of statewide honors from the Georgia Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The city's Albany Street Drainage Improvement Project was named Project of the Year, recognizing the $3.6 million effort to reduce chronic flooding through modern stormwater improvements. The project was completed in just eight months, with more than 60% of the cost covered by grant funding.
Adding to the recognition, Assistant Public Works Director Rick Charnock received APWA's Award of Excellence for Community Involvement. Charnock, who has served Brunswick for more than 21 years, was honored for his leadership in stormwater management, infrastructure projects, environmental stewardship, and his long-standing commitment to serving residents.
Together, the awards highlight both the successful infrastructure improvements taking place across Brunswick and the people behind them.
